1. Who we are
Sitedex (the “Service”; and “Sitedex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated from the United States. For purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) and the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (the “CCPA”), Sitedex is the controller of personal information collected through the Service. By using the Service, You agree to the practices described in this Policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect information You provide to us (such as account information, domain names submitted for analysis, and communications), information collected automatically when You use the Service (such as usage data, device data, IP address, and information from cookies and similar technologies), and information we receive from third parties (such as our payment and email service providers). When a domain is submitted for analysis, we fetch and store content from publicly accessible pages on that domain. Such content may incidentally contain personal information that the domain operator has chosen to make public on those pages.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate, maintain, and improve the Service; to communicate with You; to process payments; to develop new features and services; to comply with applicable law; to enforce our agreements; and to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security risks, and technical issues, in each case as we determine necessary or appropriate.
4. How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with service providers and business partners that help us operate the Service; with successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of substantially all of our assets; with professional advisors; and with law-enforcement and government authorities where required by law or where we determine appropriate.
5. How long we keep information
We retain personal information for as long as we determine reasonably necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, or for any longer period required or permitted by law.
6. Your privacy rights
California residents.
Under the CCPA, You have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for which we use it; to request a copy of personal information we hold about You; to request that we delete or correct personal information we hold about You, subject to certain exceptions; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We have not “sold” or “shared” personal information (as those terms are defined under the CCPA) in the preceding twelve (12) months.
Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
Under the GDPR (and equivalent laws), You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port Your personal information; to object to processing where the legal basis is legitimate interests; to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and to lodge a complaint with Your supervisory authority.
7. How to exercise Your rights
To exercise any of the rights described above, contact us at hello@sitedex.dev. We may need to verify Your identity before responding and will respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies as part of the operation of the Service. Most browsers allow You to refuse cookies; if You do, parts of the Service may not function correctly.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen (13), we will delete it.
10. International data transfers
Sitedex is based in the United States. By using the Service from outside the United States, You consent to the transfer of Your information to the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as Your home jurisdiction. Where required by applicable law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
11. Security
We use safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, in our sole discretion. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance.
